Portraits for a Nation (27 Nov 08- 15 Jan 09) is Mumford Fine Art's first annual charitable exhibition . Featuring portraits by gallery artists, 12.5% of proceeds will be donated to The Artists' Benevolent Institution , which provides grants for financial assistance to professional visual artists in the UK whose work has been known to the public for some time who, through illness, accident or old age, are unable to work and earn a living.
The gallery's Art Greeting Cards will also help support The Art Fund (15% of proceeds will be donated). The folded cards each depict an individual image by gallery artists on the front, and are blank on the inside. Individual messages may be printed for a personal touch. Gallery artists included in the selection are: Emily Andersen, Kitty Blandy, Stephen Canino, Michael Cardinali, Amanda Cornish, Ben Erland, Simon Erland, Dame Elisabeth Frink, Lin Jammet and Anastasia Pollard.
The gallery's aim for making a contribution to The Artists' General Benevolent Institution (starting today, until 23 December) is £3,500. This includes 12.5% of proceeds from artwork purchases and 15% of art greeting card sales.
